Springy Point

Perched on a hillside, our Springy Point Cabin project opens up to breathtaking views of Lake Pend Oreille and the Selkirk mountains. Our goal was to design a lakeside escape that blends harmoniously with the wooded landscape.

We used natural materials including cedar siding, stone accents, Rift sawn white oak and board-formed concrete to associate the home to the surrounding environment. Transom windows invite natural light in and offers glimpses of what the pacific northwest is best known for - sky and trees.

A glass sky bridge connects the primary bedroom to the common areas, creating a two-winged layout that creates contrasting spaces of privacy and communal gathering.

A switch back staircase with wooden treads artistically links the upper and lower levels together. An elegant soaking tub, simple and modern, is illuminated by diffused light. A square window perfectly frames the lake views beyond.

Winding stone paths lead to the home’s various entertainment areas - fire pit, dock, and hot tub.
